This office investigated the causes of wall movement at the fourth floor of a brick and concrete masonry building. This office prepared plans to repair the deteriorated wall. The repairs were successfully completed in 2007.
Garage Column Failure

This office investigated the sudden collapse of two interior columns at the one story parking garage for this building. After designing the temporary shoring to prevent further movement, this office prepared the plans to restore the building. The project was successfully completed in 2007.

Daisy Hill Homeowners Association
Hunting Valley, Ohio
This office provided the structural engineering to examine, evaluate and prepare restoration plans for the repairs to an eighty year old bridge. The bridge is constructed of reinforced concrete with stone facing. The repairs were successfully completed in 2007.
Slope Retention
Squires Farm - C W R U
Hunting Valley, Ohio
This office designed the restoration of the side slopes at the major horse barn at Squires Farm In Hunting Valley. The slope had slid sufficiently to damage th4e base level of the barn. The repairs consisted of cutting the slope back and installing a segmented reinforced masonry retaining wall. The project was completed in 2003.
737 Bolivar

This office was the engineer to design the structure to infill two floors. The building formerly housed CEI power generating equipment. It is constructed of concrete encased structural steel. The new floor structures consisted of structural steel and light gage steel framing.

This firm provided the engineering investigation to determine the building’s structural capacity for conversion from a warehouse/manufacturing plant to condominiums. The final design required reinforcing of the existing wood floor system to support the new loads.
Building Repair and Restoration

West 25th and Lorain Road
Cleveland, Ohio
This firm provided the engineering to convert a former five-story retail space to business and office usage. During the construction, the building was severely damaged by fire. This office worked with the Owners, City, and contractors to stabilize the building and allow construction to continue. The services included a structural condition survey of the building, analysis for load capacity, design of structural reinforcing and repairs.

Cleveland, Ohio
This firm has provided the structural engineering to renovate and update this building. The building is an abandoned theater and is being renovated for The Cleveland Public Theater. The work includes structural examinations, design of repairs, and design for new building elements. Services were coordinated with the Architect and the Detroit Shoreway Neighborhood Development Corporation.

The firm performed an investigation of the deterioration of the building’s façade. Problems included: spalled concrete, delaminating concrete, water penetration, and reanchorage of precast concrete panels. Construction documents were prepared and the repairs successfully performed.

The firm performed the investigation of the problems associated with the building’s Gustavino Tile dome, roofing membrane, monumental granite stairs,
and plaza concrete replacement. The firm acted as consultant for designing and specifying the repairs to the monument.

This office provided field consultation services to the contractor renovating this building. The services included: structural concrete repairs; non-structural concrete repairs; masonry renovation; stone façade repairs; and structural analysis of the building’s components.
